a simple wednesday

good thing i managed to wake up early today.
so i reached church office like 5 mins before the time the workshop was to start.
phew.

today's workshop was fun.
really getting down to practicing presentation with one another.
not really very fluent and smooth going about it.
but i feel so much more confident.
and it's definitely great sharing experience as we talk to one another.
really cool.
today's workshop was really a long one.
from 9 am to 4 pm. with one hour's lunch break.
sometimes the weariness sets in.
but most of the time it was really fun.
really thak God.
i guess my tuition student started taking a break at the right time.
so that this week i dont have to give the second half of the workshop a miss.
but the only thing is i'm getting slacker.

came back home since i had the time before cell tonight to catch some rest.
and slept for an hour.
hehe.
i managed to wake up.
cos ying and sis made such great effort to make sure i got out of bed.
haha.

after that went gloria's place for cell.
and i ended up being the earliest despite reaching 5 mins earlier.
the rest were all late.
haha.
today's cell was really really really light-hearted.
shared about wat basically we've been doing recently.
and i realised that i've played so much.
time to get back to work.
time to pack for the trip.
time to get my layout that is due on the 3rd done. crap.
i really hate that.
bleh.
time to really stop eating so much. the gluttony must come to a stop.
haha.

a long day.
but simple.
and zhien is happy that it is.

i guess there would be no more playing for the rest of the week.

mickey-donald outing

woke up late today.
sigh.
stupid nose of mine la.
was sneezing and sneezing like mad in the middle of the night.
end up waking up at 4.30 am.
and had to try so hard to get back to sleep.
my alarm rang at 6.45 am.
but then i was so tired that i offed it and continued sleeping.
bad choice.
cos i ended up waking up at 8.15 am.
thank God that ying came into the room rushing to go to school too.
woke me up like finally.
aiyo.

ended at 3 plus and at first was contemplating if i should just go straight to walk around in city area while waiting for time to pass till the meeting time at 6 pm for the gathering.
but got convinced that i should go home first.
cos it was too long a wait.
neither am i in the shopping mood.

got home and got my bag washed.
scrubbed like mad.
and i concluded i really hate housework.
now my hands are rougher. :(
and my back ached after bending down to scrub so much.

after that felt that i didnt have enough time to take a nap.
i would most probably end up sleeping past the time.
so in the end finished up the articles that i have to write.
which i totally got so sick of already.
but really glad that i decided to get them done before i went out while i had the time.
cos now i'm kind of tired.
and i think i'm gonna go sleep soon anyway.

then after that went out.
tonight is donald-mickey combined group outing.
haha.
supposed to meet at 6pm at city hall mrt station.
but i ended up being 15 mins earlier.
so i went walking around raffles city.
and i got myself so amazed!
they had this lego sale and exhibition.

i've always thought i'm unlike other girls when i was young.

after that met my group's people and linda's group people and went to marina square's billy bombers.

dinner was superbly filling.
here's what i ate.
damn crazy.
i think i sure put on a lot of weight with this meal.

banana milkshake as the drink.
and ben&jerry's chocolate fudge brownie as dessert.

i still love the banana milkshake at billy bombers so so so much.

but recently i seem to see more stars in the sky as i walk back home at night.
i used to look up while walking pass the track over at my house that side.
yet i dont recall seeing that much stars in the sky.
maybe it's the weather recently or wat?

the rain just disperse the clouds and make them clearer?

slumber party

i think we made quite a din in hall last night.

to think linda was the latest.
i was commenting that i'd reach around 11 that time cos i will be out on sunday night.
and she was the one to say that 11 was very late.
haha.
she only reached around 12 la.
funny girl.

the slumber party kicked started with bubbles fun.
making use of the bottles of bubbles solution we got from way way way back from rendevous.
so we were like crazily blowing bubbles.
and i crazily snapped photos.

amazing how light gets reflected off the bubbles and you see colours at the edges of the bubbles.

i had came up with the crazy idea of wearing pyjamas while we were making plans for the party.
so we all 3 looked so funny after we washed up from playing bubbles.
when we took the lift down to get the laundry done, we were wishing that the lift doesnt get stopped until we reach the first floor.
so that we wont end up bumping into other people.
seeing us in our pjyamas.
i think we giggled so so so much.

after that we had fondue!
was at the pantry melting the chocolate.
and it was quite some funny experience.
i think i was too tired. somehow i felt sleepy even before the slumber party started!
haha.
i placed the pan on the hot-plate.
but i turned the switch for the other hot-plate.
so we could feel the heat.
but the the chocolate was still taking its own sweet time to melt.
then the 2 girls realised that i did such a silly thing.
haha.


fondue! not with the fondue fountain machine though.
too expensive to get one.
with marshmellows.
bananas.
and apples.

after that went up to our room and ate.
and ate and ate.
supposed to teach them how to get the blogskin done.
but linda was so unmotivated.
and we decided that we should catch some sleep.
haha.
took some group photos before we hit the bed.
but i decided not to post them up.
cos it looks really funny.
so close to 4 am we chatted while lying on the bed.
linda was the first one to go into lala-land.
knocked out.
haha.
then after that both chiewlin and i decided that we should get some sleep too.
cos i could sense that i was talking in quite a incoherent manner.
yes tired.
haha.

poor linda had to wake up early in the morning at 7 plus just to get to work.
chiewlin and i woke up at 8 am.
but decided that we should sleep more.
haha.
the bad thing about slumber party.
sleep late and wake up late.


the cake that linda's clique got for her.
but she forgot to take it when she left.
so it ended up being chiewlin's and my brunch.
sick lor. to have to finish gorging half a cake.
haha.
i was waving the white flag close to the end lor.

after that i packed up stuff and headed back home!
so concluded our slumber party for may 2006!

the rest of the afternoon was spent out at orchard shopping with ying.
we did quite some crazy antics.
silly girl.

and one thing to really thank God for today.
really needed to get my external hard disk drive back from eric today.
but he only will end his class at 4 pm.
but i had to go home since i had arranged to go out with ying.
was praying for a solution.
and yes chiew offered me the solution.
haha.
she's gonna help me pick my hdd from eric and pass me tmr during the outing.
which didnt cross my mind when i was panicking.
haha.
so yay!
happy happy.
really thank God.
and thanks to chiewlin too.
for being nice to help me take from eric.
next time dont want lend things to him le. gives me nervous shocks. haha.

sunday

went out for dinner today.
met up with weisin.

had a rather silly time trying to locate each other in borders.
walked around borders for some time while he picked a book as his really belated birthday present.

after that went nydc for dinner.


nydc menu has got a new look!
with some new additions to the menu too!
and of course new prices!


my usual favourite oven-baked pastas had a price hike.
haha.
with some new additions too.
but i guess those i liked would taste still as good.

wanted to pop by to say hi to mum but she was out for her dinner break.
so we went to macs for desserts.
i was kind of full so only had iced lemon tea.

looked for mum then went off.

which all end up being cancelled.

but i have this feeling i'm gonna feel so packed up for time.
before i go on holidays.

so many deadlines to meet.

my tuition was cancelled too.
cos the student's mum had to attend a meeting with a client and couldnt bring her down.

but really thank God for all the free time.
so i didnt have to rush for prayer meeting in the evening.
and cos i was really feeling very tired.
i dozed off while waiting for the student to come when around 3 plus.
missed the call on my hp from the student's mum.
luckily she called my home.

today.
this morning went to tampines all saint's home.
as part of the church's touch the community project.

man i feel so lost at an old folk's home.
really high time brush up my dialect-speaking skills.
felt so helpless when i tried using chinese and they just stare blankly.

and i really do wonder why children would want to send their old parents in to a home rather than taking care of them themselves.
it seems so sad to be staying there.
i honestly think they dont feel at home though it's where they stay 24/7.
was talking to his old man but he didnt really say much.
but he was commenting that everyday he does the same few things.
at times even when they want to watch tv different people there would be fighting to watch the channels they want.
not physically fighting of course. but yea. it's still bad enough.
the rest shared that some old folks even commented that they feel so useless and cant wait to die. sigh.

of course. some seemed very happy when we sang songs to them.
i hope we did brighten up their day a little.

after prayer walk at the area near the new church building site, came back home.

had wanted to bake cookies but then.
my laziness got better of me.
so no cookie-baking!

tuesday.
morning was bible study then went for prayer walk at ntu.
after that came back home to tutor hanfeng to prepare him for this test next week.
hopefully he does well.
a rather simple day.
which was a blessing i guess.

wednesday.
morning was bible study again.
after that went for tuition.
was early to reach ang mo kio.
so end up getting myself a kinder bueno.

but my student's grandma was telling me.
that they would like the girl to take a break as she seems stressed.

so end up having dinner with mum.
thank God for that.

which i was to facilitate for my group.

a little unsure of what to do.
but thank God everything went smoothly still.
we were behind time compared to the other group.
but well. it wasnt that bad i guess.

end up having homework to do cos of that.

after that rushed off to have lunch with linda and chiewlin.

they had this really lovely look guinea pig!

so we end up walking back to united square again.

walk back and forth.

end up walking around a while since we had to wait for her to have her break.

went to the basement.

decided to go to the shop and take a look.

was looking around halfway and linda called.
so we left the shop.
