random thoughts

another entry.

i'm just taking a break after doing my tutorials.
i havent been very efficient.
got to pull up my socks and quickly finish up what i need to do.

a little bit about the long weekend back at home.

finally got down to ghim moh for lunch again after so long.
and i ate at jiu jiang.
as usual the queue is LONG.
haha.

saturday afternoon was spent out at safra yishun.
the cell group went rock-climbing.
though it was drizzling.
we went ahead with climbing in the drizzle.
was quite an experience.
realised how unfit i am now.
the last time i did rock-climbing was the special pe module back in j1.
and i totally was lousy at it.
haha.
quite a challenge.
probably will have to do something to make myself fitter.
now my upper arm is still aching from the climb.
goodness.

during the climb. i slipped off quite a few times.
and got a small cut on my finger during one of those slips.
eeks.
quite some skin came off.
yes. sounds gross.
haha. the funny bit about it was that went i went to the toilet to wash the wound and put the plaster on after the climb.
my muscles were so worked out that my hands were trembling as i put the plaster on.
lol.

teeseng came over to ntu today.
super slacker. this probably applies to any ns man who's going to ord soon.
and he passed me the stuff that he got way back when he went taiwan last year.
haha.
too bad he forgot to bring when the class had an outing earlier this year.
so he came by today.
had intended to let him get a hang of ntu canteen food before he comes in the coming academic year.
but he actually ate in camp because they had this special burger set today which he commented was super nice to eat.
hmm. weird.
well.
got a 2007 organiser (yes it's about a month late!)
and a diary.
stuff from taiwan are really cute!
hehe.
thank you buddy!

i've got some things to say.
and i'm still figuring out how to go about saying it.
argh.
sometimes it's just so hard to get what you want to say out of your mouth.
bleh.
waiting for the time to.
and thinking about how to.

well. quite random.
a whole bunch of some things here and there.

v = f λ

came up with this crappy title for this entry.
since my frequency of blogging has dropped quite a bit.
does it indicate some increase in the wavelength assuming the velocity hasnt changed?
hmm. that doesnt quite make much sense.
i'm just proving that i was once a science student!
haha.

i'm taking a break from doing my ac213 tutorial.
just finished the questions and there's yet another set of readings to do.
who said university is slack?
well. since it's a self-declared break time for now.
shall just blog about whatever comes to mind.

last sunday was the first time i helped out at the children church.
it was quite an experience.
initially during the preparations, there were slight hiccups here and there.
but thank God that everything still turn out right.
and i think the whole team enjoyed our first time working together.
i did.

one of the most rewarding thing during my first experience.
the morning started off with praise and worship.
and initially all the children were just so hyperactive.
i was standing near this bunch of little boys during that time.
and i simply didnt know how to stop them from running about so much.
yet when the worship song was sang.
the boys finally quietended down.
then. this boy. i dont know how to spell his name.
but i can pronounce his name k? (i've got more to learn when it comes to knowing this little children)
he just called to me and said.
"teacher, teacher. can you please pray for me? for my studies?"
i was stunned for a moment.
i thought he would approach someone he was more familiar with.
it was a simple innocent request.
sometimes it's just these little things that really bring smiles.
and of course. i prayed for him. :)

after that there was the teaching.
acted in the skit with some of the other children church teachers.
and had to act as an AUNTIE.
gosh.
the only thing i ever am worried about when i act is the laughing bit.
i can laugh quite uncontrollably.
but everything went out just fine!
the brothers had fun acting as 8 year old kids.
and the sisters had fun acting as aunties.
helped out with the cartoon bible story after that.
then there were games and questions to review the lesson with them.
i enjoyed myself.
there's a lot more to learn definitely.
and there's definitely many ways God can use me to teach these little children and i how to walk this journey with Him.

definitely a great sunday morning.
i loved my SUNDAY.

monday and tuesday didnt seem as interesting though.

i've been doing my part being a good student.
struggling to keep my eyes open while reading the materials for school.
and doing those tutorials.

i spent 2 consecutive nights eating dinner alone in my room.
eeks. linda went jp on monday night and chiewlin had some meeting.
but thanks to linda who got me dinner back from jp.
then tonight. it's the 23rd so oh well linda will be out with his-name-shall-not-be-mentioned and chiewlin is out watching the interhall games opening ceremony.

blocked nose.
and this sore throat.
i've been eating really slowly these few days simply because it's so hard to swallow the food down.
gosh.
i wonder how much worse it can get.

and of course.
my two days arent that miserable.
i still think it's a good start to the week.
all the schoolwork are just part and parcel of varsity life anyway.
i loved my monday.
with that 4 hour break to slack around.
it was a great monday.
i loved my tuesday.
though it was a chunk of 8 hour class only with an hour's break.
i even nodded off during the last class.
but still it was a good tuesday.

well that's about it for my updates.
and just another piece of nonsense before i end this entry.

university is super competitive.
look at the discussion board when the tutor says that class participation will be accounted for by you speaking up in class and posting your thoughts on the online discussion board.
the discussion board is FLOODED.
and it's just that one lesson's stuff on E-MAIL.
eeks it's high time i post something on that board.
at least my name shows up somewhere among that mess.

and it's high time i do some speaking up in class.
this semester has been quite an eye-opener.

pre-spring-cleaning

an early spring cleaning.

finally got down to cleaning my room at hall.
come to think of it.
i've been quite untidy for some time.
it's been so so so so so so so so so long since i last cleaned up the room.
and i cant imagine how i've stayed in it for 2 weeks since school started in that kind of state.

so yesterday after my class ended.
though it had been a really long day in school.
i decided to clean up my room while waiting for linda and chiewlin to be back from their classes.

cleaned up my table.
and look at that pail of water in the picture.
it's so dirty and murky only after wiping the shelves.
can you imagine the amount of dust that had gathered in my room?

then gave my study table a good wipe too.
finally got rid of the dust that have gathered at those hidden corners.

waited for the girls to be back.
then borrowed their broom and mop to sweep and clean the floor.
i didnt dare to take a picture of the wipes after sweeping.
it's way too disgusting.
goodness gracious me.
i wonder what's wrong with me.
i actually put up with that state for two weeks!
eeks.

well.
at least now it's clean.
i've got to clean it up more often.
hehe.
but i'll get really rough hands at this rate.
another eeks.
oh well.
still a clean room is definitely better!
:)

yeap i've got nothing much to update anymore!
hehe.

cleaning up the dust

hehe.
havent been updating for a long long while.
haha.
not really very long la.
but well.
relatively long enough.

still.
many changes took place since i last updated.

for one.
school has started.
i just finished first week of school.
and through God's blessings i managed to change from a disastrous 5-day week timetable to a really nice 4-day week.
one thing that really amazed me was when i clicked on something that indicated zero vacancy.
i actually could add that subject in.
haha.
thank God. all the stress working with the crappy stars system in school.
He definitely saw me through even what seems to be a small issue.

another.
i'm back at hall this semester.
probably stay most of the time.
still have to work this out with sis.
the reunion of zncl2.
looking forward to loads of fun with the girls this semester.

quite some things that i cant really recall specifically.
but well.
it has been a well spent 11 days since the start of the year.

some pictures to share.

i saw this caterpillar at the back of the bus seat in front of where i was seating.
one day when i was travelling.
freaked me out for a moment.
and i just looked at it throughout the whole bus journey.
just to make sure that it won't suddenly drop on me.
i felt it was too awkward to just move to another seat.
hehe.
silly right?

had a secondary school gathering just a week ago.
quite a handful of people came.
which is rather amazing.
some of them i havent seen for a long long long long time.
teeseng tops the list for being the most successful secondary school gathering organiser!

the group of us had loads of fun at settler's.
playing taboo. charoodles.
doing all sorts of funny stuff.
though the food isnt really fantastic.
but well.
we had a great time.
looking forward to meeting them again!

and ever wondered how we hostelites spend our really free time?
haha.
linda made us watch tom and jerry!
sometimes it's just those funny things we do that makes hall life fun.
we dont have to play that crazily like most hall people.
no mahjongs. no drinking.
distancing ourselves from the scandals and gossips.
still we have our fair share of fun. :)
thank you girls for just being such wonderful company!

that's all for now.
shall go and rest.
and start doing my schoolwork tmr.

2007

2006 has been...

a time for many first.
taking the first step to walk with the Lord.
first time i truly had a meaningful christmas.
man there's so so so much that i cant really list them all now with my half-dead brain.

a time for many blessings.
simply cant count them all like that.
i've been blessed in many different areas.
in terms of finance.
in terms of studies.
many many more.
blessed with lovely friends who simply make that difference to my life.

thank you to those who have made a difference to my 2006.
:)

and God has indeed walked me through.
good times, bad times.
He has seen me through.
there has been moments of ups and downs.
but still. it's always hopeful holding on to His promises.

2007 will be...

definitely a better year.
whatever may come.
i know that He has something splendid planned.
loads of wonders to anticipate.

there are many things to set as my resolutions for the year!
many many to look forward to.
:)
