spring cleaning

to clear off some dust gathered on this page.

not that bad i guess.
i just didnt update for a few days.

quite some things to say.

sunday.
had grandma's bday celebration over at her place.
so it was quite a crowd.
and major photo-taking session.
sis brought her slr.
ying brought my digicam.
loads of photos.
but i dont have them yet!

then i can post and make this darn thing a little more interesting.

monday class.
got back some assignments.
the grades arent totally desirable.
but they arent that bad too i guess.
figured that if i can do well for the main papers.
shld be fine.
this week only have lessons on 3 out of 5 days.
since it's the last week of school.
only tutorials.
which means also that exams are approaching.

tuesday was mugging day.
and i activated my bookworm club distress signal.
4357. in case most people dont understand. help on the phone's keypads can be typed out keying 4357. that's why.
haha. yes i am lame.
and i realised that some people have abnormal speeds when it comes to studying.
and some people have amazingly high saturation points.
some people have amazingly high endurance!
woah.
i need the 6a kind of motivation too.

was damn shag on wednesday although there wasnt class.
the rain these few days seem to rain down on me.
sadly.
it rains and stops. rains and stops.
wore me out with all the short distance running here and there just cos i am lazy to whip my umbrella out of my bag.
talk abt sloth.
haha.

and yes. i just got a little drenched running back to hall in the rain.
the rain was quite heavy but the distance was.
not too long.
but then again.
not too short.
and so. the lazy me decided to run.
and yes. in a super duper unglam manner.
back to hall.
feels good getting drenched sometimes. but then again. not with my bag.
haha.
was protecting my bag like mad. cool huh?

oh. and just when i thought today is the worst day of the week.
cos my class is like 8.30 am to 12.30 pm then 3.30 pm to 6.30 pm as usual.
and both classes had quizzes today.
the quizzes were manageable.
was quite happy with my scores.
cos they were better than previous ones i scored.
and the 3.30 pm class ended within an hr.
shiok.
but well if it ended later at the usual time. i wouldnt have to run in the rain.

two major discoveries today.

discovery no. 1
people can seriously be horribly kiasu.
*faints*

passed by the canteen today.
and apparently there was a booth set up to give out free nescafe coffee.
which was slightly chilled.

first there was a crowd.
and since they dont restrict the distribution.
it was like a free for all buffet.
what happened was.
i saw people grabbing for the bottles.
and then come out of the crowd with like at least 3 in each hand.
walked down the canteen.
and saw someone with like one box!
saw someone with many bottles and was like gulping down the 3rd* bottle already! amazing caffeine overdose. *i saw 3 bottles without the cap on that's why.

and some interesting sights.

look at those plastic bags on the table.
my camera isnt clear.
but there are people getting plastic bags to "take-away" the free bottles of coffee.

5 bottles. one person took it all.

woah. amazing how freebies just never fails to attract crowds.

discovery no. 2
guys can be quite weird at times.
not to be sexist k?
but just like males say females are difficult to understand.
i propose the other way is the same too.
males can also be difficult to understand.

first, my tutor.
the one that usually ends class on the dot at 6.30 pm.
he used to take 2 hrs to finish up 12 slides.
today he took half an hr to finish up 8.
improvement in efficiency.
he used to set really hard quizzes. 10 questions each that are really killer.
and today he set an easy one. that i could handle without having to think too hard.
not cos i studied a lot i think.
and it was 5 questions only! he was saying. as long as we turn up. we already scored the other 5 marks! sugoi! amazing!
and he gave tips!
must study hard for the final paper already!

then, a fellow classmate.
funny.
i wonder if it's me who said the wrong thing.
which i presume i didnt.
cos i seriously dont think i said anything nasty!
*crosses my fingers* i hope i didnt.
or it's just guys can experience serious mood swings too.
i end up getting dao.
hmmm. *looks left and right*
i still cant figure out what is wrong.
maybe i really said sthg wrong. did i?
*frowns* i dont think i have such a short-term memory.

i'm just glad i handled it well.

for once i realised the position my younger sister used to be in.
you'll nvr really understand a person unless you climb into his skin and walk around in it.

started from 7 and ended at close to 12.

time to get to studying.

got myself a no-class day tmr.
both the classes that i'll be having are cancelled.
one cos my tutor got injured and now has her leg in cast.
one dont know why.
and so it's gonna be a free day.

spent the whole of last night trying to get my project and tutorial done.
which almost drove me crazy.
it just drove me to the wall.
was whining so much.
then again.
what's new?
i always complain.
ah. bad habit to kick.

finally done with my part of the project i guess.
minus the compilation.
supposed to get it done tonight to submit for tmr's class.
but since there isnt any class.
the deadline is extended by yet another week.
this is the first time i ever have my projects due really at the last week of school.

and of course my tutorial.
at least the compulsary one is done.
more tutorials to clear.
those for next week that is.
sickening.
yes i am complaining again.

right now running low of ideas for blogskin design.
so i guess i shall keep it this way for now.
shall start thinking for more ideas when i feel like it i guess.

tonight the lift in hall is down.
so i got a bit of 'work-out' climbing stairs.
if that counts.
i think i've climbed 7 storeys up and down at least thrice for now.

linda was describing how she got stunned by a waterfall sight when the doors of the lift opened this afternoon.

pasta-mania

shall blog about yesterday's stuff.
since i was too lazy to last night.
and after a full 8-hr long sleep.
i'm now wide awake enough to write sthg.

a new beginning

shall update a little before i hit the bed.
i think it's high time i really set my bed time earlier.

think i've been too slack during the weekend.

wednesday was queuing day.
wanted to queue for angela chang's ntu concert tix but didnt manage to get it.
then went to queue for exam goodie bag.

can guess how freaking bored i was.
that was why i asked my friend about the net-casting method too.


took this on thurs night i think. cant really remember.
but it was a picture of the night sky with sparks.
most probably due to life firing around the area.
how interesting.
like fireworks display.
just not as magnificent.

there was more sparks.
but the moment i ran into the room to take my phone and came back.
there was nothing much left.

guys like to chase after girls using the "net-casting method"

what is the "net-casting method"?
putting it in simpler terms.
it is one way of chasing after girls, in which the guy will target more than one girl and chase them simultaneously.
rather similar to that of a fisherman casting his net to get his catch.
whichever fish does not manage to escape would be caught. of course.
one of a schoolmate when asked if he can apply the "net-casting method" to obtain his "good catch" replied "why not?"
interesting.
so guys prefer it that way?
no wonder sometimes people comment that whoever managed to get a good catch.

what is wrong then with the less convenient method?
casting a fishing line and then having a bait just for one fish to be caught. that is.
probability of getting a catch is lower. well. that's a way of putting it in mathematical terms. very logical.
time taken is longer. in economics sense. it's not cost-efficient.

so is there anything wrong with the "net-casting method" then?
can be a possible turn-off should one of your targets end up knowing what you are doing?
maybe.
